NEWS!

It's been an interesting day.
I retired from the Wescott FD, where I served for 12+ years. I left there with the rank of Captain.
I was also promoted to the rank of Driver/Engineer with the Pueblo FD, where I've been for 6 1/2 years.
Strange how things work. It's been a landmark day.

Good news everyone! I have passed my written and practical test for fire engineer (driver)! It's not clear right now whether the promotion list will be good for 1 or 2 years.

Well, our trip to Tucson went well, but during the trip home we ran smack into a blizzard! Fortunately, we caught a lull in the storm and made it home, with our trip only taking about 90 minutes longer than normal (though that was still a13 1/2 hour trip!).
I've posted some pictures of the trip on our site, along with a couple of new pictures from here. Go to the site, and click on the photo page and look for the "updated" pages. Make sure you scroll down the pages so you don't miss anything!

Hello again, everyone.
It is with a heavy heart that I tell you that yesterday (the 7th) we had to put our long time friend, and loyal pet, Fido to sleep.
At 14 1/2 years old, he was quite old for a Dalmatian, but he lived a good and comfortable life. We hope he is happy wherever he is.

Finally! I found a few minutes, and have added pictures of my recent trip to Mt. Rushmore and the latest from the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta to the site. I have also started to add captions and dates to the pictures, alhtough I'm not completely done yet.

Well, I was geting ready to post some images from vacation on the site, and after scanning a bunch, I found out I scanned them too small. So, I'm going to have to scan them again. I'll have them up by the weekend!
Got a little snow storm through here last night. Not much snow on the ground, but high winds, low visibility, slick roads, etc. This morning its mostly clear, and little, it any snow on the ground, but a cold 22°.

I still have some slides from my trip to Mt. Rushmore getting processed, and I'm also still looking at the slides from the Balloon Fiesta in NM. I won't be posting any on the site real soon, because I've also ordered a new film scanner that promises to be much higher quality than the one I have now. When it shows up, I'll start scanning again!

I'm in Rapid City, SD for a few days, looking at my old stomping grounds, and taking lots of pictures of Mt. Rushmore. The weather is nice, and getting up before dawn to be at the memorial before sunrise definitely paid off!

Well, we arrived back from Albuquerque yesterday with a bunch of film to develop, and found out that our favorite photo lab here in town went out of business while we were gone, much to our surprise and dismay. Now the search is on for another lab. Of the two here in town that actually develop slides (for Bob) in house, we've had bad experiences with one, and the other is too expensive. Looks like we'll be shipping the slides to Denver, which will delay them getting posted on the website.

Hello, again. A few quick notes:
I build the website on my laptop computer, which has a different screen resolution than most home computers. I just saw that the "title" page is kinda wide and too long. I'll fix that this weekend.
Also, even though there is "FIRE" on the links bar, its not set up yet, so there really isn't a "FIRE" page. Yet.
